He graduated from New York's Pratt Institute in Architecture and was awarded a Master of Science in Urban Studies from Columbia University, an education as prestigious as the career that would follow. Kwan is a protégé of Frank Gehry, world famous architect of New York’s iconographic Guggenheim Museum. He has since developed his own distinctively famous architectural style, and is now the principal architect/interior designer of TriBeca Asia Hospitality Group For this project, Kwan was supported by a fully qualified team of quantity surveyor and mechanical, electrical, lighting and structural consultants based in Kuala Lumpur. His skill is reflected in the villas and terraced homes of The Lotus Terraces, boasting the highest world standards in construction and style while exuding natural elegance. Kwan's ability to move from architecture to interior design allows for a unique and wonderful harmony between the buildings and interiors of The Lotus Terraces. She obtained a Bachelor of Planning & Design (Honours in Landscape Architecture) from the University of Melbourne and joined PL Design in January 1996. Her work has included hotels, condominium and office landscapes, large scale planning and landscape design and residential design on an international basis. The Lotus Terraces is her first project on Koh Samui. PL Design was founded in early 1991 and has earned the international reputation for innovative design service in site planning and landscape architecture. To date, the company has provided planning services for resorts, condominiums, housing, offices, public areas and golf courses. PL Design puts special emphasis on creating natural character that will enhance as well as conserve the environment.
